Cumberland County Council on Older Adults raising funds to increase free service provision to seniors in Cumberland County

Fayetteville, NC – The Cumberland County Council on Older Adults will have its fourth annual Blast From the Past fundraiser on May 6, 2017 from 6-10PM at the Ramada Plaza Bordeaux Convention Center. The goal of BFTP 2017 is to raise funds to ensure continuity of free services to seniors despite proposed funding cuts.

The theme this year is celebrating the ‘80’s. Best dressed costume will win a cash prize! Don Chase is emceeing the evening. Sponsorships and ticket purchases include a buffet dinner, cash bar, silent auction, 50/50 raffle, DJ, and photo booth from Five Star Entertainment. The evening will also feature live client testimonials from Meals on Wheels clients and families.

Since July of 2016 the Council has served 5,041 seniors via our programs and services and is on track to serve the most seniors in its history. Most recently, the Council purchased its first hot/cold delivery truck for the Meals on Wheels program and was the only NC recipient of the regional Food Lion Feeds initiative.

Welcome to our website! The Council on Older Adults was established in 1968 as a non-profit organization and forty-eight years later we remain committed to our original mission of helping older adults living in Cumberland County maintain their independence at home with dignity.
