A Meal and Much More:
Meals on Wheels provides nutritious meals to home bound older adults who are unable to prepare meals for themselves and have no one able and/or willing to provide meals for them. Meals on Wheels is so much more than just a meal – This program provides home bound older adults a break from the isolation and loneliness many feel, as well as promotes a sense of community. Dedicated volunteers cheerfully deliver meals and brighten recipients’ days.
Program Benefits:
- A balanced nutritious meal that meets USDA recommended daily dietary guidelines
- Access to nutrition education, other community resources and activities
- Socialization and interaction with volunteers and staff
- Daily security check by volunteers
- Service provided at no cost helps limited incomes stretch further
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be at least 60 years old
- Must live in Cumberland County
- Must be home bound
- Are not able to prepare meals and have no one willing and/or able to provide meals
