Telephone Reassurance Program

The Power of Communication

Our Telephone Reassurance Program pairs home bound older adults, known as Clients, with Volunteers. These participants need contact due to social isolation and/or vulnerabilities associated with physical limitations.

Volunteers make telephone contact in accordance with an established schedule agreed upon by the participant and/or their caregiver, help provide safety checks, medication reminders and have caring conversations. Volunteers are informed of community resources that may be helpful to the participant and may make referrals with the participant/caregiver’s consent when needs and/or concerns are made known.

Eligibility Requirements to Become a Client:

  • Must be at least 60 years old
  • Must live in Cumberland County
  • Must need the service to minimize social isolation and/or safety/security vulnerabilities or have a need for reminders

Eligibility Requirements to Become a Volunteer:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Subject to a criminal background check
  • Attend orientation and monthly meetings/training
