Senior Nutrition Program
Nutrition services are intended to:
- Promote, maintain, and improve the health and well-being of older adults through the provision of a nutritionally balanced meal five or more days a week served in a congregate setting within the community or delivered to the home. Meals meet USDA recommended daily dietary guidelines.
- Reduce the isolation experienced by many older adults through opportunities for social interaction with program volunteers, staff, and fellow community members
- Provide nutrition education and supportive service activities in order to enhance one’s ability to remain independent
- Enable older adults to remain at home as long as possible
