Telephone Reassurance

Volunteers make regular phone calls to seniors to help increase social connection, check on safety and well-being, and be a listening ear. Clients find comfort in talking with a caring individual from the community, and conversations may include talk about family, activities and news of the day, fond memories from their past, or other topics that may be on their mind. Clients may receive calls once a week to several times a week, depending on their need and the volunteer’s schedule. If the client is unable to be reached, the program director, emergency contact, or emergency services may be contacted to ensure safety of the client.
