New Memory Screenings and Dementia Education

Memory screenings through Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s National Memory Screening Program provide simple and safe “healthy brain check-ups”, as well as education on dementia diagnosis, dementia care, brain health, and more.

Early detection of memory problems allows for earlier access to treatment, support, and clinical trials, and an opportunity for future planning, including legal, financial, and long term care  planning.

*Screenings are available every Friday between 9am and 12pm, by appointment only.

*To schedule an appointment, please call Lisa Hughes at 910-484-0111, ext 242 or email at lhughes@ccccooa.org

Funding for the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias Community Support program, providing various services including AFA Memory Screenings, is graciously provided by The Thomas and Edith Wood Endowment for Alzheimer’s & Dementia Support and Cornelia “Neil” Bullock Wilkins Charitable Endowment Fund for Seniors of Cumberland Community Foundation, Inc.

Cumberland County Council on Older Adults was established in 1968 as a non-profit organization and fifty-five years later we remain committed to our original mission of helping older adults living in Cumberland County maintain their independence at home with dignity.
